24 YEAR OLD JAMAR MCLEOD SLASHED IN THE FACE WHILE DEFENDING HIS GIRLFRIEND, A TRANSGENDER WOMAN, FROM TRANSPHOBIC ATTACKER

This attack occurred in broad daylight, in Greenwich Village in New York City. No, New York is not some magical utopia where everyone can just “be themselves.”
Do yourselves a favor, and avoid the comment section to avoid triggering language.
I really wish this article didn’t read like it was written by an 8th grader. But it is important to realize transphobia is a major problem, even in one of the most diverse cities in the world.
Transphobia, homophobia; these are merely symptoms of misogyny. And this prejudice is seeded by religion. Want to evolve? Try ascribing to a practical philosophy that isn’t thousands of years old.
